Orange County Convention Center’s Marketing and Communications Team Honored by the Public Relations Society of America

ORLANDO, Fla. – (Dec. 30, 2021) The Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Sunshine District and Orlando Regional Chapter recently recognized the Orange County Convention Center’s (OCCC) Marketing and Communications section for excellence in executive communications and video campaigns during the pandemic.  

The Radiance Awards, presented by the PRSA Sunshine District, recognizes outstanding strategic public relations programs by Florida practitioners and organizations. The statewide awards recognizes the highest levels of professional achievement in PR campaigns and tactics, demonstrating excellence in research, planning, implementation and evaluation, as well as individuals who have shown great commitment to the profession.

The Marketing and Communications team received a 2021 Radiance Award for Executive Communications and a Radiance Award in the Videos category for their Meeting Safely Today for a Stronger Tomorrow campaign showcasing the OCCC’s health and safety protocols to host conventions, trade shows and sporting events during the pandemic. The OCCC was the first convention center to publicly release its comprehensive strategy and its Recovery and Resiliency Guidelines to safeguard clients, attendees and employees.

Vanderhoof-DosSantosAdditionally, Chief Marketing Officer Nadia Vanderhoof, was named the PRSA Sunshine District’s 2021 Trailblazer. This award honors a PRSA Sunshine District member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the practice and implementation of public relations principles.

Marketing and Communications Assistant Manager Katarina Dos Santos, was named PRSA Orlando’s Communicator to Watch for her significant contributions made to the chapter and her community.
Dos Santos is passionate about lifting up her community and those in the public relations profession.

The OCCC’s Marketing and Communications team is responsible for producing and implementing integrated external and internal marketing communication strategies to promote the Center of Hospitality to existing and future clients. The team also leverages national campaigns and public relations strategies to enhance and foster client relations, in addition to implementing employee, stakeholder and partner communications to support marketing and brand management.
